| Sifnos is one of the western Cyclades its closest neighbor being the islands of Serifos (12 nautical
miles), Kimolos (10 n.m), Milos (20n.m) and Paros (14 n.m). She has an area of 74 sq. Km. , her perimeter is 28 miles and distance from Piraeus is 75m. There is a daily ferryboat service connecting Sifnos with Piraeus on Milos line. The journey from Piraeus by ferry is about 5 hours and by High-speed boats 2.5 to 3 hours. Sifnos is also connected by ferry with many of the other cycladic islands : Paros, Naxos, Myconos, Tinos, Syros, Folegandros, Ios, Santorini. The closest airports to Sifnos are those of Milos and Paros. For emergencies there is a heliport near Exambela.
